“The food that we’re eating is killing us. It’s making us sick, it's causing diseases, fatigue, obesity, and it happened to me. In 2014 I was diagnosed with uterine fibroid tumors, after two surgeries I was told that my only option was to have a hysterectomy. An irreversible procedure that would completely eliminate my chances of being able to bear children. At the age of 30 I knew this could not be the only option. I also realized the disparities I faced as a woman of color in the healthcare system. After doing intensive research I started juicing, and now 3 years in my fibroids have been stable.” - Sophonie
